Key Facts of MPEG2/SVCD
- SVCD capable standalone players will play the VCD on your
TV.
- Best quality format, next to DVD of course, that will
play on a standalone.
- Hardware MPEG Decoders such as the Hollywood Plus or DXR3
will be utilized in playing the SVCD, as opposed to MPEG4
where it all relies on your computer's specifications.
- The quality is great, but of course, less than an original
DVD's quality.
- Most of the time, making your own SVCD will require 3
CD's for a 2hr movie.
- This format is on it's way to becoming a completely adopted
standard like VCD 2.0!
